China, Russia, and Iran to Conduct Joint Naval Exercise ‘Security Belt-2025’ Near Chabahar Port

China, Russia, and Iran are reportedly scheduled to conduct a joint naval exercise named ‘Security Belt-2025’ in March, aimed at enhancing military cooperation and strengthening mutual trust among the three nations. The drills will take place near Chabahar Port, located in southeastern Iran along the Gulf of Oman. Chabahar Port serves as Iran’s only oceanic port, providing direct access to international waters and enhancing its strategic importance in the region.

Participating forces will include China’s Xining guided-missile destroyer and a supply ship. Planned activities for the exercise will include simulated maritime target attacks, damage control operations, and joint search and rescue missions. The overarching goal is to bolster international maritime security, combat piracy and maritime terrorism, and facilitate the sharing of operational experiences and tactics among the participating countries.
