Ethiopia Participates in AUSSOM Plus TCCs Meeting in Kampala, Uganda
Ethiopia is participating in the ongoing Senior Officials and Ministerial Sessions of the Troop Contributing Countries (TCCs) to the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) Plus, being held in Kampala, Uganda. The meeting, under the theme “Stabilise Somalia,” brings together key African nations involved in peacekeeping operations in Somalia to reinforce their commitment to regional stability and coordinated action.
Led by Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Aisha Mohammed Mussa, the Ethiopian delegation is engaged in discussions with fellow TCC representatives on enhancing Somalia’s security and governance structures. Minister Mussa emphasized Ethiopia’s continued support for Somali-led solutions, highlighting the importance of empowering Somalia’s institutions and enabling the country to eventually manage its own security.
With the Horn of Africa facing multiple challenges, including the threat of terrorism and political instability, Ethiopia’s role in AUSSOM Plus remains critical. Ethiopia’s involvement underscores its commitment to regional peace, with a focus on long-term stability and cooperation among African nations to support Somalia’s recovery and growth.
