Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces, recently commended the enduring partnership between Uganda and the United States during a meeting with U.S. Ambassador William Popp. Held at the Special Forces Headquarters in Entebbe, the discussion underscored the significance of their bilateral relations, established since 1962, which span diplomatic, security, economic, health, and cultural domains.
Kainerugaba emphasized the cultural ties between the two nations, noting the shared heritage and mutual respect that underpin their cooperation. He acknowledged the positive impact of U.S. support on Uganda’s development and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing this partnership for future generations.
Ambassador Popp reciprocated by praising Uganda’s leadership in regional security efforts, particularly in Somalia, and its humanitarian stance on refugees. Both leaders expressed optimism for the continued growth of their collaboration, aiming for a strengthened alliance focused on peace and prosperity.
