Ethiopia and Uganda Strengthen Military and Diplomatic Ties During General Muhoozi’s Visit
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed hosted General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of the Ugandan People’s Defence Forces, at his office in Addis Ababa this morning, according to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister. The meeting was also attended by Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF).
General Muhoozi is in Ethiopia on a working visit at the invitation of his Ethiopian counterpart, Field Marshal Birhanu Jula. The visit underscores the growing military and diplomatic collaboration between Ethiopia and Uganda, key regional players in the Horn of Africa.
The meeting highlights the nations’ shared focus on enhancing security cooperation in the region. Both Ethiopia and Uganda play critical roles in addressing regional security challenges, including counterterrorism efforts and promoting peace within the East African Community.
