President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro of Somaliland is set to participate in the World Government Summit 2025, taking place in Dubai from February 11 to 13. The event, themed “Shaping Future Governments,” will gather over 30 heads of state and 6,000 global leaders, including policymakers, business executives, and academics, to discuss solutions to emerging global challenges.

This marks President Irro’s second visit to the UAE in a short period, underscoring Somaliland’s intensified diplomatic outreach. His presence at the summit presents an opportunity to advocate for international recognition, strengthen diplomatic relations, and explore economic and strategic partnerships with key global stakeholders.

Since taking office in December 2024, President Irro has emphasized the importance of foreign policy and global engagement. In his inaugural address, he pledged to renew Somaliland’s relations with the international community, aiming to enhance regional security, economic growth, and diplomatic cooperation.

The World Government Summit 2025 provides a significant platform for President Irro to engage with world leaders, share insights on governance and development, and further Somaliland’s aspirations for international recognition and economic collaboration.
