Violent Clash in Raas-Kambooni as Mogadishu’s Efforts to Destabilize Jubaland Fail
The Mogadishu government is intensifying efforts to destabilize Jubaland, mobilizing Hawiye militias to unseat its president. In the past two weeks, militias were flown into Jubaland, but their attempt to seize control ended in disaster.
A violent clash in Raas-Kambooni resulted in heavy casualties, with many fighters killed, others captured, and some surrendering to Kenyan border forces at Ishakani. This escalation highlights the ongoing tensions between the federal government and Jubaland, with significant consequences for the region’s stability.
